Update 3/1/21: This event has been rescheduled — see details below.
Update 2/18/21: Due to the prolonged bad weather, the likelihood of muddy conditions, and the loss of electricity that many of us are dealing with, we have decided to Postpone the Property Clean up day. We will reschedule in the near future.
The PBBA will be hosting a clean-up day at the Midland Trail Project lease to prepare the area for trail building.
When and Where
Date: Saturday, March 20th at 9am to 1pm
Saturday, February 20th at 9am to 1pm
Location: 3215 FM 307 Midland, TX. Near the intersection of FM 307 and IH-2, adjacent to Harris Field Fire Training Center
Parking: Parking is located along the south fence line. The gate to the park is located near the southeast corner of the lease. FM 307 is a busy highway, so please use car when pulling off and on to the road.
What to Expect
Our focus will be picking up trash and debris that has been dumped on the lease. Mostly, this consists of old tires, general paper and plastic trash, glass, and some old metal debris. The PBBA will have a supply of trash bags.
What to Wear and Bring
This will be a somewhat dirty job so wear appropriate clothing. Be sure to bring work gloves and wear sturdy shoes or boots. Also wear eye protection such as non-glass sunglasses. Be aware of spiders, snakes, etc. while walking around the lease and when picking things up (especially tires). Although this shouldn’t be a problem this time of year, please remain cautious.
We will open the lease to let pick up trucks and trash trailers access different areas around the lease. Feel free to bring your pickup truck.
Although we will be outside in an open-air environment, all participants are encouraged to wear masks and to follow social distancing guidelines. Please provide at least 6 feet of separation from individuals that are not part of your group. If you are feeling sick, have a fever, or may possibly have been exposed to COVID-19 in the last two weeks, DO NOT ATTEND this event.
