Mountain biking is inherently a challenging mix of man, machine and environment.  PBBA has an annual lease in Notrees, Tx (about 40 miles from Peytons) located on Flag Ranch.  It is privately owned land by Mr. Billy Cole and has been in his family since 1903.  He is VERY mountain bike friendly, and has been extremely gracious by allowing us access to 15+ miles of singletrack and jeep road trails.  We have trails for all riders, from beginner to expert.  
 
Notrees is a good explanation of the area where we ride.  It is located on Hwy 302 toward Kermit, on the caprock, just before the drop-off into the Kermit/Wink basin.  There are NO TREES and very little shade, (except for the covered picnic tables at the Trailhead) But even though it is the West Texas desert, the veiws from the caprock are incredible, and on a clear day, the Davis mountains (home of PBBA's Hammerfest in the Spring, and Cyclefest in the Fall!) can be seen! 
 
Because of the desert environment, be prepared with plenty of water/food.  And, as always, also be prepared with a well tuned bike and flat repair supplies.
